Political Turmoil With a Side of Ceaser Salad

I don’t really consider myself ‘talented’ when it comes to the world of political punditry. I venture the reason why that is, is because I think politics is something akin to a puzzle that your three year old brother keeps eating the pieces too: it’s fucked up from the start. Therefore, I hardly ever voice my opinions on things in the political realm which seems to be all the rage of bloggers these days.
Recently, however, I came across a political topic right here in my own backyard that I had to say something about. You can find articles about this topic Here , Here , Here , Here , or Here . The articles are culled from varying sources. Everything from Planned Parenthood to the newly revived Sacramento Union. ( I even did research. Aren’t you proud of me?) I am not taking the side of Liberals or Conservatives on this one. Rather I am taking the standpoint of a, now reformed, delinquent. To synopsize what is said in all of those fancy links the political topic is in regards to a law in California that allows children to leave school excused in order to seek ‘Confidential Medical Treatment’ which includes but is not limited to: AIDS testing, Abortion, drug therapy, and mental examination, without the consent of, or informing the parents. To shorten it down even more: Kids can leave campus and mom and dad won’t hear about it. WHAT THE FUCK?
So what the hell is everybody thinking? I know that part of the reason this law was designed was to protect kids from parents who might be the source of why the need medical attention. (i.e. Daddy beats Susy, so susy can’t tell Daddy she’s going to a doctor because of him). Now that it’s out in the open, though, expect to see little Johnny Troublemaker going to the ‘psychiatrist’ a lot, and expect little Jane the Stoner needing to go to planned parent hood more often to get birth control. Has this law gone to far in trying to protect children that they may actually put them in danger? If I were a parent, and my kid was released from school without my knowledge and got hurt, maimed, killed, or joined the Hare Krishnas, I would own that school and it would be my private airsoft playground.
I do, as some of you know, have friends in high political offices, so I jumped online to see what the Governor of California had to say about this:

Although sometimes my friends are idiots
So he was no help. Here is my take on the entire thing: I, as a parent, should have the right to decide what’s best for my kids. They are, after all, my responsibility, not the schools.
